In accordance with the Lusaka Securities Exchange (“LuSE”) Listings Requirements, the Board of Directors of Zambia Bata Shoe Company Plc (“the Company”) hereby advises the Shareholders of the Company that the Earnings per Share and Headline Earnings per Share for the Half Year Ended 30 June 2022 are expected to be approximately 325% higher than the Half Year Ended 30 June 2021.
The movement in profitability is attributed primarily to the following points:
I. Revenue – Increase by 34% following successful business remodelling in tackling COVID-19 effects as well as exploration and maximization of the underlying business opportunities in the country.
II. Gross Profit margin at 55% on 30th June 2022 vs 46% June 2021 driven by strategic planning, execution, and tracking of results and speed to action.
The results for the half year ended 30th June 2022 will be released on SENS and published in the local press on or before 31st August 2022.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s Securities until the publication of the results.
