NMBZ Holdings Limited is a registered financial-services holding company in Zimbabwe; operating in the retail and commercial banking sector aswell as treasury, international banking and corporate finance through its principle subsidiary NMB Bank Limited. A second subsidiary, Steward Holdings (Private) Limited, is an equity holding company. Formerly known as National Merchant Bank of Zimbabwe Limited, NMB Bank Limited was established as a retail banking institution in 1992 by a group of Zimbabwe entrepreneurs who had held senior positions in renowned international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. It was granted a commercial banking license in 1999 which enhanced its funding capacity and extended it product offering.

Benefit commenced his career with Barclays Bank in 1978 where he was, among others, Director’s Assistant, Risk Management and Business Centre Director. He joined NMB Bank in 1997 as Divisional Director, Risk Management. In 2004, he joined Metropolitan Bank of Zimbabwe as CEO before re-joining NMB Bank as MD in 2008. Benefit is a Certified Member of the Institute of Bankers of South Africa ACIB (SA) and a Chartered Secretary (ACIS). He holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration.
Ben is a non-executive director of NMB Bank Limited and NMBZ Holdings Limited. He is an experienced banker, has held various positions in Risk Management, Retail Banking, Human Resources, Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance. Mr. Chikwanha has held various management roles in the banking sector including being a Director Risk Management and Managing Director. Currently Ben is an Executive Director of the Leonard Cheshire Disability Zimbabwe Trust.
