Chilanga Cement PLC (Zambia) appoints Mr. Ezron Lesa as the Chief Financial Officer

In compliance with the Lusaka Securities Exchange Listing Rules (“LuSE Rules”), and the Securities Act No.1 of 2016, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Chilanga Cement Plc (“Chilanga Cement” or the “Company”) hereby wishes to inform its shareholders that Mrs. Choolwe N. Lungu will be separating from the Company effective 7 November 2022.

Mrs. Lungu will therefore no longer serve as the Chief Financial Officer for Chilanga Cement and the Board thanks Mrs. Lungu for her contribution to the Company and wishes her well in her future endeavours.

The Board also wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Ezron Lesa as the Chief Financial Officer effective 7 November 2022. Mr. Lesa is a qualified Chartered Accountant with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK (CIMA) and a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA). He has over 14 years of experience in the financial functions of Mining and Manufacturing industry. He is currently pursuing MSc. Accounting and Finance.

Mr. Lesa previously held the position of Financial Controller in the Company. Over the years, he has held various positions in the finance department of the Company including that of being the Head of Plants Controlling. Before joining Chilanga Cement in 2017, Mr. Lesa worked in the Mines under different roles ranging from Accounts Payables Accountant, Cost Accountant, Group Insurance Analyst, and Company Financial Accountant.

The Board is confident that Mr. Lesa will diligently discharge his duties as the Chief Financial Officer and wishes him all the best.
