British American Tobacco Zambia expects FY 2021 basic EPS 372% higher than year prior

In accordance with the Lusaka Securities Exchange (“LuSE”) Listings Requirements, the Board of Directors of British American Tobacco (Zambia) Plc (“the Board”) wishes to advise the Shareholders that for the period ending 31st December 2021, the basic earnings per share is expected to be 327% higher than that of the corresponding period last year for the Company.

This increase is due to an optimal pricing strategy that was implemented by the Company, the improved sales mix, and an investment in a new production line which enabled the Company to grow volumes and meet demand.

The Company expects its results for the full year ended 31st December 2021 to be released on SENS and published in the local press on or about 10th March 2022. Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s securities until publication of the results.
